AF Blakemore has announced the launch of its first graduate scheme, due to commence in July 2015.
The two-year programme aims to develop future leaders for the company and will take on four graduates across four areas of the business.
Group HR director Ian Diment, said: “The new scheme will provide graduates with a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and skills across a number of diverse business areas.
“The recruitment and development of talent is vitally important to ensure the long-term sustainability of the business. Our aim is to establish AF Blakemore as an employer of choice for graduates and we hope that this programme will help to attract, develop and retain the best people.”
The scheme, which is aimed at both recent graduates and those who have already begun employment, will be advertised externally as well as to current employees.
There will be four programmes available: a People Programme, Blakemore Retail Programme, Blakemore Trade Partners Commercial Programme and Blakemore Wholesale Programme.
Applicants for the scheme will be invited to participate in a multi-stage recruitment process that will include a group assessment day in June.
The four successful candidates who embark on the graduate scheme will then participate in a structured development programme. A comprehensive six-week induction will provide an overview of the business and its values as well as the structure of the programme. This will incorporate spending time in frontline roles and attending a Leading the Blakemore Way course. There will also be opportunity to undertake an ILM qualification and get involved in a community project.
The scheme will open for applications on 20 February 2015.
