American Express joins UKGCVA, trade body representing £4bn gift card industry

American Express has joined the UK Gift Card & Voucher Association (UKGCVA), the trade body representing the UK’s £4bn voucher, gift card and stored value solutions industry.

Globoforce, a provider of cloud-based social recognition solutions, and PeopleValue, a provider of card-based, loyalty and benefits programmes to businesses,have also recently joined the Association.

American Express Advanced Services Europe Limited joins other Association members made up of leading high street retailers, department stores, supermarkets, online retailers, B2B agencies and industry service providers.

American Express is both a global issuer and acquirer, offering a range of prepaid cards, digital wallets and loyalty services. American Express is rapidly expanding on a global basis and implementing new products, services and partnerships with a number of leading businesses to provide new and innovative solutions to its customers, distributors and markets. 

Andrew Johnson, director general of the UKGCVA, said: “We’re thrilled to bring on board such a respected industry name as American Express. We hope American Express will enjoy all the benefits of being in the Association, and look forward to working with them as we move into 2013.”
