Zissman: Apprentice runner up enlists Secure Trading for payment processing

Bakers Toolkit, the cake decorating and baking product firm run by the 2013 Apprentice runner up Luisa Zissman, has enlisted Secure Trading to provide the payment processing for all customer transactions.

The deal sees Secure Trading handling every card payment processed through the Bakers Toolkit website, as well as providing a suite of counter fraud services to protect transactions.

After missing out on investment from Lord Sugar in a close final, Zissman went on to launch the brand after selecting three investors from 16 suitors.

The B2B business offers a range of professional cake decorating and baking products at high street prices. The products are easy to use but are built to professional standards. As well as its online offering, Bakers Toolkit products are stocked in a number of big-name shops on the high street.

Secure Trading’s payment gateway boasts unrivalled uptime, and processes all major credit and debit cards in multiple currencies, as well as numerous alternative payment methods, the company claims.

Tom Dixon, marketing executive at Bakers Toolkit, said: “Our customers are king, so we needed to make sure that the payments element of our website was efficient and secure. That’s exactly what we’ve got with Secure Trading who’ve been professional and supportive since the beginning of our relationship.”

Mike Barnes, head of retail sales at Secure Trading, said: “Bakers Toolkit is an innovative, entrepreneurial business and we’re relishing the task of supporting them with their ambitious plans. Our payment gateway will make sure their customers have a smooth experience with every purchase.”
