Mortimer Chocolate Company: strengthening brand presence via social networks

Artisan hot chocolate company, The Mortimer Chocolate Company, has hired social media consultancy, SocialRetail.co.uk, to grow its brand throughout the UK and internationally through social media channels.

The campaign will focus on boosting Facebook likes and Twitter followers, as well as launching a dedicated site for chocolate lovers, ChocolateFriends.com.

SocialRetail.co.uk said it will be incorporated into all aspects of the company’s future marketing strategy and will be used as a channel to respond to customer’s direct feedback and questions.

Adrian Smith, managing director of The Mortimer Chocolate Company, said: “We wish to expand our online community and engage followers with exciting and exclusive content based around a mutual love of chocolate. We look forward to working with SocialRetail.co.uk to bring the brand to life, publicise new products and tell our customers about exciting new recipes.”

Pete Doyle, managing director of social retail and former e-commerce marketing manager at Waitrose, Toys R Us and Hamleys of London, said: “Everyone loves chocolate and Mortimer Chocolate is among the best in the world. We aim to spread the word, informing fellow chocolate lovers of the delicious recipes they can make with Mortimer Chocolate.

“The bigger picture is how social media can launch brands on an international stage, with a shoe-string budget. SocialRetail.co.uk is helping retailers large and small engage with communities on a personal level, rather then through mass market paid-for media.”

The Mortimer Chocolate Company currently has an online community of engaged users via Twitter (@chocfriends).
