Godiva, the luxury Belgian chocolatier, has chosen eCommera, the leader in decision-intelligent commerce, to underpin its online expansion plans.
Godiva will launch online in the UK using eCommera’s cloud based end-to-end commerce platform, DynamicCommerce – powered by Demandware.
With a physical presence in over 80 countries worldwide and already selling online in the US, Japan and China, Godiva said it wanted a partner who had the experience and technology to help it establish an online presence in the UK at pace.
With limited in-house resources and experience, Godiva was able to take advantage of eCommera’s retail expertise and proven e-commerce platform to meet aggressive launch deadlines, and build an effective eCommerce operational team.
The functionally rich platform will allow Godiva to implement the benefits of multi-ship address. This feature allows customers to ship to multiple addresses in a single order, ideal for corporate gifts.
Sarah Hawkes, senior strategic merchandise manager at Godiva, said: “We chose eCommera as our long term partner because they have proven experience in getting brands to market quickly. As well as having the right technology they worked closely with us to help set our strategy for expansion across Europe – which was a key differentiator. We are now confident that we have the right plans and the right technology to deliver our international growth ambitions.”
Andrew McGregor, CEO of eCommera, said “We are delighted Godiva has chosen eCommera to help them realise their commerce potential in the UK. The brand is renowned here through their concession stores in Harrods and John Lewis and we look forward to helping them grow their business online”.
Godiva joins a growing list of international brands and retailers that are adopting a decision-intelligent approach to online commerce, including Brooks Brothers, Jaeger and Clarins.
