Blakemore Fine Foods launches online ordering and reduces order lead times

Blakemore Fine Foods has launched a brand new online ordering system and reduced lead times on orders to enhance its service to customers.

The new online ordering site, found at www.blakemorefinefoods.co.uk, enables customers to view and order from the entire Blakemore Fine Foods ‘Best of British’ food and drink range, which consists of more than 3,500 product lines.  All products are displayed with images and full product descriptions to maximise ease of use.

Blakemore Fine Foods commercial director, Caoire Blakemore, said: “Our new online ordering platform will considerably simplify the ordering process for our customers, offering them quick and easy access to our full range of fine foods 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“The new system will benefit our producers too, raising the profile of their products and making them more visible and accessible to customers.”

As well as being able to seek out products by producer name or category, website users can make use of a producer search feature, where they can locate producers within their local area by setting their chosen search radius.

Registered customers can log in to download the latest Fine Foods newsletter and find out about the most recent additions to the Fine Foods range.

In an additional move to improve its service to customers, on July 6th Blakemore Fine Foods also introduced changes to its distribution service.  The business has reduced delivery lead times by 24 hours so that retailers can now order from the Fine Foods chilled, ambient and frozen ranges on a day-one-for-day-three basis.

Blakemore said: “Reducing our delivery lead time has taken months of careful planning and consultation, but we are confident that this initiative will greatly improve our service for customers as they will be able to predict their order requirements far more accurately and Blakemore Fine Foods will be able to respond much faster to their requirements.

“Both the new online ordering system and reduced delivery lead times will help improve efficiencies,  better serve customers and producers and enable us to carry on growing our business.”

To help support these new changes and the growth of the business, Blakemore Fine Foods has recently recruited new administrative sales support, a customer service and telesales manager and a business development manager to help grow sales with the business’s independent accounts.

Blakemore Fine Foods, which grew sales by 12% from its 2013/14 financial year to 2014/15 year, now supplies 3,500 ‘Best of British’ product lines from more than 240 producers across Britain.
