Blakemore Trade Partners appoints Rupert Morris to the role of trading director

Rupert Morris initially joined the business in May 2015, before being appointed head of trading for Blakemore Trade Partners in August 2015.

Morris: new role

During his time with AF Blakemore, Morris has brought a wealth of experience to the trading team from previous roles in the retail and food service sectors.

Blakemore Trade Partners managing drector Jerry Marwood commented: “The trading director role is pivotal to the commercial success of both Blakemore Trade Partners and Blakemore Retail and is integral to the company’s relationships with Spar UK and our supplier base.

Morris has more than 25 years’ experience in multisite food retail and food service businesses across UK and international markets, heading up both buying and operations teams.

Prior to joining Blakemore Trade Partners, he held a role as commercial director at multinational retail franchise operator MH Alshaya, which operates more than 70 UK and American brands across 3,600 stores in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia, Turkey and Europe.

His previous work experience also includes a six-year period at Spar Central Office as Trading Controller between 1993 and 1999.
