Blue Yonder tipped as leader in predictive analytics software and plans data academy

Blue Yonder, a leading SaaS provider for predictive analytics, has been named as an emerging leader in predictive analytics software following independent big data research from international technology investment banking group, GP Bullhound. 

The company has also announced the first European Data Science Academy. Opening in early 2014, the Data Science Academy will offer seminars in both English and German, the latter beginning in February with English seminars to follow in Cambridge from 19 April 2014. The Academy intends to provide its participants, who will consist of decision-makers from management teams as well as business users, data scientists, and members of IT or analytics departments, with the necessary know-how to identify big data opportunities within their own companies.

The GP Bullhound report titled ‘Big Data Analytics – Extracting Insights from Exabytes’, focuses on the analytics of taking actionable insights from big data. The firm cites Blue Yonder as a leader when it comes to making predictive analytics more accessible for all business users, with the company’s stock optimisation offering, forward demand, receiving special mention.

GP Bullhound’s latest report marks the big data analytics sector as one of the hottest in the world for VC and growth capital investment at this time, with USD 1.4bn of funding secured in the last 12 months alone. Deloitte, meanwhile, has forecast total UK Christmas online sales would hit £5bn making the use of predictive analytics more critical than ever before to the retail industry.
