Thomas Hübner, executive director for Europe for the Carrefour Group, and Jan Zijderveld, president Europe of Unilever, have agreed to serve as the next co-chairs of the Efficient Consumer Response movement in Europe.
The duo will take the helm on-stage on the opening day of the 2012 ECR Europe Conference and Marketplace in Brussels, 9-10 May 2012.
To kick-off their new roles, Hübner and Zijderveld will open the 2012 ECR Europe Conference by setting out the new strategic vision for ECR – The Next Generation. They will also share their personal insights on the power of collaboration and review the results of a new survey conducted throughout Europe on the adoption, use and benefits of ECR practices.
“ECR Europe has been a driving force for change in our industry for 15 years,” said Hübner, “and both Jan and I are very excited to have this opportunity to take the helm and continue the good work of our predecessors.”
Zijderveld said: “We are going through a time of great change in Europe and in ECR we will reflect those changes as we continue to work together to meet the needs of our shoppers and our consumers.”
The ECR Europe conference is an annual event that brings together up to a thousand industry leaders from across the consumer goods industry. Under the new co-chairs, the 2012 conference will highlight three key industry topics:
• The value of collaboration in a time of crisis
• Digital: reaching the consumer
• How to grow… Sustainably
In addition to Unilever and Carrefour, senior executives from a wide range of companies including Ahold, Casino, Google, Henkel, Nestlé, L’Oreal, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and TNT will be speaking at the conference.
