Carr’s Flour is delighted to announce it has received two prestigious two-star accreditations at the Great Taste Awards 2019. Both Carr’s Artisan Flour and Carr’s Maltster Flour achieved two stars, reflecting Carr’s’ continued reputation for excellent products. Winning 2 stars recognises that the products are “above and beyond delicious”; an accolade less than 10% of entries to the Great Taste Awards receive.

Carr’s’ two flours reaching 2-star status means they feature amongst the best of UK produce, with only around 1,500 products awarded 2 stars and above from a total of 12,772 entries.

Carr’s’ is renowned for its dedication to creating high-quality products. Founded on the principles of excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction, Carr’s Flour is an Essex miller with a long history of quality and service.

Getting the best out of wheat is a skilled job, with the millers at Carr’s taking extreme care to ensure all their flours are able to fulfil their baking potential. It is this personal touch, alongside the very best 21st century technology, which ensures only the finest flours are produced, time after time.

Working with local farmers, the wheat is milled by a highly skilled team of millers. Supplying a trusted ingredient to bakers for over a century, provenance is extremely important to Carr’s, with the majority of its 50,000 tonnes of wheat a year coming from within 30 miles of their Mill.

Judged by a panel of 500 experts, the Great Taste Awards are regarded as some of the most highly respected accolades in the food and drink industry.

Great Taste is the largest and most trusted accreditation scheme for fine food and drink. It supports, promotes and mentors artisan food producers large and small, who want to supply the UK independent retail sector and overseas stores selling fine food.
