Interflora was the third fast grower in April’s ChannelAdvisor UK Facebook Commerce Index, which ranks retail brands by their number of fans.

The flower business achieved 35% growth last month taking its fan base to 25,650.

According to ChannelAdvisor, Interflora has an advantage over many other retailers in the Index because it is a global retailer and can exploit the increasing buzz of ‘local’ on Facebook.

Interflora has made the most of the new timeline feature, with an engaging page, discounts and competitions to drive sales; while themed posts make the page up-to-date and relevant, said ChannelAdvisor.

Interflora also uses Facebook as a customer service tool by responding to customer queries and complaints, which overall makes a varied and engaging user-experience.

Jack Wills and Ann Summers are the only retailers to move up the ranks in April’s Top 25 table.

Jack Wills continues its progress, riding to 16th place with almost 377,000 fans – a rise of 24,588 (7%) on last month’s figures.

Ann Summers added 11,057 new fans (4%), knocking Dorothy Perkins from 22nd place. Net-a-Porter retains its long-held position in the Top 25, ranking 7th with 714,420 fans after adding 38,875 last month (6%).

New Look has topped the charts once again as the retailer to add the most ‘Likes’, with an increase of 153,572 fans throughout April (11%).

Other notable growers in April include Next, Topshop, and Urban Outfitters, all of whom accumulated over 99,000 new fans each.

Debenhams and Matalan did well in April’s Top % Growers table, coming 8th and 7th, each with 23% growth, and a combined increase of 35,383 fans.
