CHRONEXT, the Swiss e-commerce company for buying and selling luxury watches, opened the doors to its flagship boutique on the 8 of November 2015 in Mayfair, London (W1).
A selected number of special guests were invited to the company’s successful opening event to celebrate the move into the world of brick-and-mortar. The shop resides right next to the traditional “In & Out Naval and Military Club” and measures approximately 970sq ft. Over 250 watches are currently being exhibited in the shop. Utilising tablets in the boutique, clients are provided with direct access to the company’s entire online collection, which consists of over 8,000 watches from brands such as Rolex, Omega, or Maurice Lacroix. These timepieces can be ordered on the spot and shipped to the CHRONEXT Boutique or directly to the clients’ home.
CHRONEXT has thus expanded from a pure e-commerce marketplace to a multi-channel company, using the additional channel of traditional retail to enhance the customer experience. Such a strategy should increase the client base as well as turnover.
Philipp Man, founder and CEO of CHRONEXT, said: “We are very excited about the opening of our physical shop. We were pleasantly surprised with the turnout at our opening event, and we were able to generate a turnover of more than 100,000 GBP within the first day.
“Personally, it was great to interact with clients on a one-on-one basis and to be able to discuss their preferences first-hand. CHRONEXT is currently the only online marketplace in the luxury watch segment worldwide to open a physical shop.
“The goal is to launch more shops throughout Europe in the near future. In this way, we will present our clients with the opportunity to experience their fancied timepiece in person prior to purchase and we will be able to reach an entirely new client base on the spot.”
Annika Bischoff, the store manager of the CHRONEXT Flagship Boutique, said: “The range offered by CHRONEXT is simply breathtaking. I am very pleased to be able to advise our London clientele personally and to provide them with a unique shopping experience.”
