New desserts for Valentine's Day

The Co-operative Food is launching new lines and promotions in 2012 to target Valentine’s Day.

They include a Millionaire’s Dessert, featuring a biscuit crumb topped with caramel sauce, Belgian chocolate mousse and a white and dark chocolate marbled decoration.

Truly Irresistible Limited Edition Strawberry & Champagne Melted Middle Cheesecakes are also back for a second season; while Truly Irresistible Valentine’s Chocolate Cupcakes made their debut.

Savoury treats include The Co-operative Truly Irresistible cheeses – Brie Pays, Farmhouse Cheddar, Farmhouse Red Leicester, Mature Edam and Bleu D’Auvergne.

Further lines include The Co-operative Chocolate & Raspberry Heart – a heart with white and pink chocolate swirls, hand-decorated with freeze dried raspberry pieces and priced at £3.00.

Flower gifts include single blooms, a Fairtrade bunch and a premium dozen plus, for the less conventional, there are sprays of spring flowers in store.

The Co-operative is featuring half price deals on Champagne including Janisson Carte Blance Champagne for £12.99 (usual price £25.99), while Veuve Monnier Champagne costs £13.00 (normally £26.00). At £14.99 are Madame de Maintenon Champagne and French Connection Premier Cru, usually both £29.99 at full price.

There are also half-price deals on Martini Prosecco and Marques de Sierra Negra Brut Cava, which are both priced at £5.99 a bottle (usually £11.99).

As a value alternative to a takeaway, The Co-operative’s is promoting its Truly Irresistible Pizzas, including a Margherita and a Limited Edition Four Seasons pizza.
