Riemer: Bavaria role

Dutch brewer Bavaria has appointed John Riemer as national account manager to help drive awareness of the Bavaria brand and increase sales with the UK’s largest wholesale, cash & carry & convenience customers.

Riemer joins Bavaria from VAX, but brings with him a wealth of experience of the drinks sector having started his career at Pernod Ricard. His new role will involve key account management, liaising with existing clients and developing sales opportunities with prospective customers across all channels.

Riemer said: “Bavaria is a now a recognised brand throughout the UK and has shown increased sales year on year. This is a great opportunity and I am confident my experience and enthusiasm for the role will ensure we maintain the momentum the brand has built up with retailers and consumers alike. The business is very strong and we have great team dedicated to delivering not just great products, but a great customer experience. And on a personal note, it’s great to be part of this success.”

Mike Teague, managing director at Bavaria UK, said: “We have a great range of drinks, with something for everyone; a fact appreciated by our customers and a great reason for potential customers to meet with us. John impressed with his sector knowledge, enthusiasm for our brand and his determination to put the customer at the centre of our relationships.

Riemer will be based at Bavaria UK’s newly occupied headquarters in Burton-on-Trent, which are much larger than their old offices. The extra space will be needed as Bavaria looks to increase the size of its team in response to the growing demand for its products, with TV sponsorship continuing to raise awareness of the family-owned brewery’s brand.
