Food Brands Group is re-launching its Rocket Fuel self-heating coffee in 200ml recyclable cups and with new hot chocolate variants.

Rocket Fuel Self-Heating Energy Cups, enriched with Guarana, are available in Sainsbury’s, at Amazon.co.uk and independent retailers nationwide and priced from £2.49.

Powered by the natural stimulant Guarana, Rocket Fuel Self-Heating Energy Cups are designed to deliver a high-octane energy boost wherever and whenever it is needed, claims the company.

The self-heating cup works by generating a small thermal reaction between the inner and outer packaging. Activation is triggered by clicking the base of the cup and shaking the can a few times. The cup heats in three minutes and stays hot for up to 20 minutes, the company says.

David Brooks, sales director at Food Brands Group, said: “Rocket Fuel Self-Heating cups are back and are bigger and better than ever before. We’ve refined the packaging based on consumer feedback and added a hot chocolate variant to the portfolio. We are delighted with the results. Rocket Fuel Self-Heating cups tap into the growing trend for coffee on-the-go and are perfect for any consumer who requires an instant energy boost anytime, anywhere.”

The company has also upped the marketing spend to support the Rocket Fuel brand. Activity includes an advertising campaign on the London tube network and on the UK’s first tri-screen located outside London Liverpool Street station.

Rocket Fuel branded articulated lorries will also be used to spread the word to tired motorists on major routes throughout the UK.
