Supermarket Aldi has revealed a new limited-edition gin from Callander-based McQueen Gin that is the perfect tipple for the festive season.
On sale from today (Thursday 14 November) and exclusive to Aldi’s 91 Scottish stores, the Blood Orange & Cranberry Gin (£17.99, 50cl) is the latest creation from award-winning distillery McQueen Gin, following recent success of their highly sought-after Forest Fruits Colour Changing Gin.
The zesty blood orange and cranberry flavours are complemented by distinctive juniper notes, creating warm aromas, brimming with festive nostalgia. The flavours pair perfectly with a Christmas cheeseboard, simply garnish with a slice of blood orange and serve with tonic and plenty of ice.
Dale McQueen, co-founder of McQueen Gin, said: “Coming up with new and unique flavours is what we’re all about and we’re excited for Aldi shoppers to try our new Blood Orange and Cranberry Gin, a fantastically zingy winter warmer.
“We have a fantastic relationship with Aldi, who continuously challenge us to come up with bold new flavours that will appeal to their customers. Aldi has been instrumental in our growth over the past 18 months, which has not only allowed us to bring forward expansion plans at our Callander distillery, but also to invest in new product development so we can create even more world-first flavours.”
Graham Nicolson, group buying director, Aldi Scotland, said: “We’re very proud of the strong partnership we’ve built with McQueen Gin and the innovative products that have been delivered to market as a result. Last summer we commissioned McQueen’s Forest Fruits Colour-changing Gin, which flew off our shelves. It was such a hit with consumers in Scotland that we extended the contract UK-wide and just last month, our colleagues at Aldi in Australia launched it on their shelves.
“McQueen’s new Blood Orange and Cranberry Gin is a lively and warming spirit, which I’m confident will go down a treat this festive season.”
McQueen’s Blood Orange & Cranberry Gin will be available in all Scottish Aldi stores from today (Thursday 14 November).
