Giovanni Rana: shortlisted in PAPA Awards

Fresh pasta brand, Giovanni Rana, has been shortlisted in the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Industry Awards 2011 (PAPA Awards).

Its fresh Fusilli pasta and Parmigiano Reggiano sauce has been nominated for the Best Manufactured Product of the Year category.

On supermarket shelves since May 2011, the fresh pasta pioneer introduced a new line of unfilled pasta and sauces to complement its existing range of fresh filled pasta. Giovanni Rana’s new fresh Fusilli pasta and Parmigiano Reggiano sauce impressed the award’s judges this year with its authentic, fresh and flavoursome ingredients.

The Fusilli is made from specially selected flour and a minimum of 20% fresh eggs. It is authentically Italian and features unique tight coils for more body to the pasta which makes it better for picking up sauces, the company claims. The fresh Parmigiano Reggiano pasta sauce also encompasses a genuine taste of Italy, it said. Ready in just five minutes, the Giovanni Rana fresh Fusilli pasta and Parmigiano Reggiano sauce make a simple, quick and tasty meal.

In its 22nd year, the PAPA Awards pride themselves on recognising excellence in Italian foods.

Stephen Hull, brand development director of Giovanni Rana, said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Magazine have been really supportive of the Giovanni Rana brand and to be nominated along with so many other great brands is an achievement in itself. We will keep you posted.”
