Belgian chocolate brand Guylian has relaunched its website and is inviting consumers to design a new look for the packaging of its chocolate sea shells box.
According to Guylian, the new website is designed to create a more interactive chocolate experience for consumers.
It includes enhanced navigation functionality to help consumers find their way through the product pages, which now include greater product detail and show additional chocolate images; including the individual chocolate pieces inside each box.
A ‘share & tweet’ feature allows customers to forward Guylian favourites to friends, family, chocolate lovers and associates through Facebook, Twitter and You Tube or via email.
Guylian is also inviting fans of the brand to design a new look for its top-selling sea shells – 10m units are sold each year – by the visiting the interactive site, www.whiteboxcontest.com.
The microsite has been launched as a hub where users can register to join the competition and present their design idea. Participants and visitors to the site will be able to share their opinions on the submitted designs and vote for their favourite.
Designers from all over the world are invited to upload their creations online at by 19 June 2011. Voting will be open until 26 June 2011.
Guylian said it is essential the suggested packaging design is eye-catching and attractive to customers, creates a sense of desire for the product and helps the product stand out among competitors.
The winner will receive $5,000, and there are two valuable runners up prizes, said the company.
