Holland’s, the North West producer of pies and pastries, has launched two new premium pies as part of its new Pub Classics range. This new range is claimed to feature the finest British ingredients, and includes two flavour varieties: Peppered Steak Pie and Chicken & Ham Pie.
With Holland’s out-performing the national pie market, with increased sales YOY for its shortcrust pastry products, its introduction of a premium offering in the chilled category is a welcome addition to its pie portfolio, the company said.
Larger in size than Holland’s current range, these 247g individual pies are said to offer the best of British, with traditional pub classic fillings. Featuring British beef, the Peppered Steak Pie offers chunks of steak in a peppercorn sauce, wrapped in shortcrust pastry and sprinkled with cracked black peppercorns. The Chicken & Ham Pie includes British chicken and British ham, seasoned with black pepper in a creamy sauce; its pastry is finished with a sprinkling of thyme.
Holland’s is giving consumers traceability assurance with its on-pack British meat message. It’s not only a guarantee from Holland’s on its meat sourcing assurance; it also demonstrates Holland’s support for British farmers and the importance of low food miles by sourcing within the UK.
Holland’s Pub Classic range is available in single box packs giving unique stand out on shelf. The iconic pie brand recently modernised its look by introducing a new logo, new bolder coloured packaging and new on-pack messages including standout microwavable cooking instructions, GDA’s and a British flag to emphasise the British meat provenance. What’s more the new Pub Classics pies can be microwaved from chilled in less than four minutes.
