Japanese LED light manufacturer, Nichia Corporation, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against German DIY retailer Hornbach Baumarkt.

Nichia is seeking an injunction, damages, recall and destruction against a Christmas decoration product including white LEDs sold by Hornbach, which Nichia believes infringe its patent.

Hornbach Baumarkt is partly owned by British retail group Kingfisher plc. Kingfisher’s main retail brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt, Screwfix and Koçtaş.
