Kelkoo, Europe’s third largest e-commerce web site, has appointed Chris Simpson as European marketing director.
At the same time, the company is undertaking a review of its brand and website to meet customer needs in an increasingly crowded price comparison space.
According to the company, Simpson’s appointment highlights Kelkoo’s commitment to the regeneration of the Kelkoo brand as the company looks to develop a differentiated and customer-centric product offering.
Simpson will report into Kelkoo’s CEO Richard Stables. His responsibilities span the full marketing mix across Europe including the brand, content, pr, SEO and SEM teams. Simpson is reported to be looking to further strengthen the marketing team in social media and CRM roles to enhance Kelkoo’s brand loyalty and customer relationships.
Simpson said: “After undertaking extensive customer research across Europe, we have built a clear picture of how people like to shop and how we can help them. We’re applying these insights to evolve our brand and proposition. Alongside this, my goal is to help the business to really understand what our customers want and deliver an amazing consumer experience across an expanding range of channels beyond just search.
“I’m particularly interested in delivering the most engaging customer experience with the best added value for the retailers on our site – those who work closely with us will gain a unique perspective on how people shop for their products.”
Chris joins the business from Glasses Direct, where he was head of marketing.
