Law firm, Thomas Eggar, has been named Best Planning Advisor in the 2011 Asda Retail Development Brick Awards.

The awards recognise outstanding service provided by suppliers to Asda and reward those who have contributed to the retailer’s growth.

Carl Dyer and James Clark from Thomas Eggar attended the awards ceremony on 23 June 2011 at The Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Commenting on the award, Carl Dyer, partner at Thomas Eggar, said: “Asda is a great company and a pleasure to work with. We are delighted to have received this award in recognition of our work with them. I feel it is a credit to a team of extremely hardworking individuals whose dedication has been rewarded.”

The nominees were put forward by Asda’s planning consultants, and it was the internal planning team who made the final decision on who would win each of the 16 categories. Thomas Eggar was awarded the accolade ahead of rival law firms Osborne Clarke and Dundas & Wilson, which were also shortlisted for the award.

Richard Huteson, town planning manager at Asda, said: “Carl is a long standing and highly regarded consultant of Asda’s. He has demonstrated his meticulous attention to detail providing exceptional advice and support in relation to the planning application at Ware. His commitment is second to none.”
