MFI: back online

MFI, once the biggest furniture retailer in the UK, is returning to the home interiors market as an online retailer.

The brand, which went into administration in 2008, was subsequently bought by Walker Capital, owner of the Victoria Plumb online and mail order bathroom brand in 2010.

Since then the management team has been developing the relaunch of the MFI brand. According to the company, the online launch has been designed following market research which suggested customers are happy to purchase home furnishings online as long as:

–          The products are of high quality

–          They are affordable

–          The customer service is first class

MFI said it is offering quality land affordable home furnishings, excluding kitchens, with a first class customer service.

The company claims to have quality suppliers and developed a service that is second to none. This includes features such as stipulating a preferred delivery date when the order is made and tracking the delivery at every stage to ensure customers receive the product they want at the time they’ve requested.

The current management team is headed by commercial director Adrian Storr, who has 15 years’ retail experience, including nine years at MFI under previous ownership.
