MOJU, the market leader in cold-pressed juice shots, an emerging category that grew by 407% in 2018 [IRI], is to launch the UK’s first multi-pack of juice shots. The brand’s cold-pressed ginger booster shot multi-pack will be launching into the take-home chilled drinks fixture of 250 Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, with an RRP of £4.95 for three 60ml shots.
MOJU is seeing a significant increase in demand as awareness of the shot category grows due to cultural shifts such as a greater focus on sugar consumption and processed foods and the shift to a self-care mindset in an increasing number of consumers who are looking to proactively manage their own health and wellbeing.
“Our shots have been a huge hit with consumers in front of store chillers (on-the-go) and we’ve seen significant demand for a take home offering that consumers can keep in the fridge and use on a daily basis.
There are multiple usage occasions for our juice and shot ranges which sets them apart from the traditional juice category. Consumers are not only using the shots when they are feeling under the weather and if they need a boost but are also taking them proactively in a similar way to small format probiotic yoghurt drinks “, said Rich Goldsmith, co-founder, MOJU.
MOJU is leading the growth in the plant-based functional drinks space with a 250% year on year revenue growth from 2017 to 2018 with an RSV (Retail Sales Value) of £4million in the last year. The brand expects to double RSV in 2019 with extensions to its shot range and the launch of other take-home formats.
The MOJU team is set to grow from 8 to 12 members of staff in Q1 this year with senior sales, marketing and operational hires. This follows the appointment of Jules Hydleman as non-executive chairman last year.
