Beauty industry advisor, My Market Insight, announces trio of board appointments

My Market Insight, the trusted and innovative provider of media and e-commerce insights for the beauty industry, has announced three new strategic Board appointments. Peter Wakeham becomes chairman, whilst Olivier Marret and Dipanker Shewaram join the business as non-executive directors.

New chairman Peter Wakeham has extensive experience of blue-chip multi-nationals and entrepreneurial ventures. He held senior international marketing and general management positions at Unilever, Mars, McKinsey, PepsiCo and BET in UK, Sweden, Japan and the United States.

Wakeham became a Board member and founder shareholder in Bricom Holdings, an MBI from British & Commonwealth Holdings as well as a co-founder of WILink Plc, a leading disruptive communications company serving retail investors, which listed on AIM in July 2000 and was acquired by a US Private Equity Fund in June 2006.

Wakeham has over 25 years’ of entrepreneurial and angel investing, of which recent examples include SCG LLC, Sweet Frog Enterprises LLC, Revionics Inc, Aptiviti Inc and Intellectual Digital Corp. Current roles include non-executive director and former chair of British Pearl and chair of Old Milhillians Club.

Olivier Marret, former general manager of Puig UK joins My Market Insight as a non-executive director. After three years at Lancôme, Olivier’s 21-year career at Puig began in 1998 with the London-based Creative Fragrances subsidiary, where he was Brand Manager for Paco Rabanne.

Over the following years, Marret worked in senior international sales and marketing roles covering Europe and the Americas. He subsequently returned to London as General Manager of the Puig UK and Ireland business to drive sales and market share growth, and new brands integration. 

Non-executive director Shewaram has over 20 years’ experience in the asset management sector. He was a partner at BlueBay Asset Management, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2006 and founded Goldbridge Capital Partners in 2011. Current roles include chief strategy officer for British Pearl, investment advisory board member for Lincoln Private Investment Office, plus several other advisory Board positions. Shewaram is a regular guest speaker on the Investment Management Programme at the London Business School.
