A new shopping concept, which bundles online orders from independent businesses to deliver to shoppers in one order, has been launched in Hertfordshire.
Called Tilia, the business aims to represent and support thousands of small shops and retailers and help them to fight off competition from large e-tailers and supermarkets.
Accoring to the company, it has a rapidly expanding database of store owners and is actively seeking more to join its network. The concept offers retailers and artisan suppliers an online platform to sell from, while managing the collection and fulfillment of all orders. Tilia is free to join but charges sellers 10% of the transaction price.
Robert Ford, managing director of Tilia, said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of this revolutionary new service. This is about bringing independent retailers and artisans together to promote and sell their goods in a secure way. Shopping with Tilia will enable customers to create their perfect shopping basket from the very best of what’s on offer across their county.
“For too long, supermarkets have been encroaching on the High Street’s market. We aim to prove that the high street is still the natural home of quality and value for shoppers.”
Ford said he had received a positive reaction to the service so far and an amazing variety of small businesses are signing up to the service.
“We’re certain twhen we launch, no other department store will be able to offer such a diverse range of locally sourced goods.”
