Workplace equipment supplier, Slingsby, claims a new range of handling and lifting products is already proving a hit within months of being added to its catalogue.

The company has been supplying a range of trolleys, trucks and tugs since 1893 when company founder, Harry Crowther Slingsby, began producing products to move heavy loads horizontally around large buildings.

The latest additions to the range feature electric motors and are designed to pull, push and steer wheeled loads of up to 1,000kg, with hardly any effort required by the operator, claims the company.

Dominic Slingsby, managing director of Slingsby, said: “These state of the art tugs are simple to use and enable anyone to manoeuvre substantial loads around confined spaces by literally flicking a switch. Although there are cheaper alternatives out there, these are among the best tugs in the world at the moment and as a result they are immediately generating interest due to their huge potential and versatility.

“They are designed to be used in all types of premises from hospitals to warehouses and shops through to factories. These products will immediately increase productivity, reduce manual handling and improve safety and for larger premises there’s also an option to add a ride-on platform.”

The tugs come with built-in rechargeable batteries, an accelerator system that can be regulated to specific limits and they can be adapted to work with a wide range of trolleys, carts and pallet systems.

They are priced at £4,596 or £5,296 with a ride-on platform and are available from Slingsby by visiting www.slingsby.com or by calling 0800 294 4440.
