One Stop BWS range review aims to encourage customers to try something new

One Stop’s most recent range review across Beers, Wines and Spirits has focused on range rationalisation to improve value and volume performance. This is inspiring customers to try something new through clearer promotions and pricing, while making space for new growth areas in-store.

In Beer, emphasis has been placed on building upon One Stop’s already credible three for £5 offer, while capitalising on growth areas such as premium beers, world beers and craft ales.

Historically One Stop has traded craft ales from an ambient promotional stand, but due to craft beer’s continued growth and One Stop Customer feedback (stating that although customers enjoyed shopping this category, it could be simpler to shop), the range has been repositioned in the chiller, encouraging customers to try new lines.

This has further strengthened the three for £5 offer, which now provides customers with more than 40 lines to choose from, boasting one of the largest ranges in convenience. New lines included in the deal are Brew Dog Punk, Flat Tyre, Piston Head, Brooklyn Lager and Goose IPA. One Stop have also launched Tyskie 4 pack (£4.75) due to popular demand and Red Stripe Stubby Bottles on an ongoing 5 for £5 deal.

Further changes based on customer shopping habits sees all bottled ciders moved to a standalone two for £4 deal, allowing customers to mix and match between brands such as Kopparberg, Bulmers and Brothers. With increasing demand from customers for chilled drinks, stores are set to feature an additional shelf to support this and further allow ales and mini spirits to make the move from their original ambient stand.

One Stop is also increasing the amount of single pick spirit lines available to franchisees to help reduce upfront costs for range reviews, relieving valuable cash-flow whilst driving sales.

One Stop gathers franchisee feedback as part of its ‘you asked, we listened’ process to ensure it is meeting the regular requests of new lines from franchisees, as it allows stores to ‘dip their toe in’ with some unfamiliar products and not tie up all their cash ordering 6 or 12 bottles (often amounting to over £100 stockholding on a single line) of potentially slower moving lines.

As a result, One Stop has added a further 10 spirit lines to its range of over 300 single pick lines available to franchisees. New additions to the range available for single pick include Vodka lines such as Ciroc, Grey Goose and Absolut. Greenall’s and Tanqueray Gins have been added, along with Jim Bean White Bourbon, Chivas Regal Whisky, Jura Origin Whisky and Antica Sambuca.
