One Stop Franchise has unveiled its 50th store, as it continues to create nterest amongst independent retailers.
The 50th store to sign up to One Stop’s franchise model is located on Mosley Common Road in Boothstown, Manchester.
Currently trading as a Spar, owner Tahir Mahmood is set to begin his franchise transition in October and is scheduled to re-open as a fully refitted One Stop in early 2015.
The 1,400sq ft store serves a large residential area to the west of Manchester city centre and will extend its selling space to 2,200sq ft as part of the refit. Mahmood has operated the store for 12 years, all of which have been under the Spar fascia.
One Stop launched its franchise scheme at the end of January this year, following a successful pilot within five stores during 2013. The proposition provides retailers with a successful brand, convenience expertise, product distribution, marketing and investment in their store, whilst they retain full ownership of their business and profits, the company claims.
Mahmood said: “I considered a number of options, but One Stop franchise was the one that stood out as the best solution for my future success. Everyone knows what a great brand it is and how much customers love their promotions. But it was also about how they intend to invest in my business and to work with me to grow my sales and margins. Their retail knowledge was probably the clinching factor – they operate their own stores so successfully and they really know what they’re talking about. I can’t wait to get through the next few months and run my very own One Stop.”
