Siam Gold, the pan-Asian beer distributed by Nottingham-based Asiana, has been awarded two golden stars at a Superior Taste Award Ceremony held by the International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels.
The iTQi jury awarded over 85% across all five evaluation criteria – first impression, vision, olfaction, taste and retro-olfaction – and presented Siam Gold with an impressive final mark of 87.3%.
Managing director of Asiana, Sam Sangha, said: “We’ve found a growing number of people are seeking beers from around the world. Therefore we’ve invested time developing the distinctive taste of Siam Gold and I’m thrilled to have been awarded with this Superior Taste Award.”
Siam Gold is described as aa premium, lighter tasting smooth beer based on a traditional pan-Asian recipe. It is said to be made using only the finest quality ingredients and at 4.8% ABV, and being less gassy than other lagers, it is the perfect beer to complement any cuisine worldwide, the company claims.
Sangha said: “We’ve experienced a significant growth in interest and sales of Siam Gold – and our other oriental Beer, Beijing Gold – over recent years thanks to our customers’ expanding palate for oriental food and drink.”
