It’s all treat and no trick as Patchwork Pâté, the British producer of handmade foods from the Welsh countryside, releases its limited edition Halloween Hummus.
Based on Patchwork Pâté’s classic hummus recipe, Halloween Hummus provides an extra kick, thanks to devilish extra ingredients, the company reports. Roasted pumpkin, toasted cumin seeds and smokey chipotle chilli are blended in to add a touch of heat to Halloween 2014.
Looking ahead (gingerly) to Halloween, Margaret Carter, founder and CEO of Patchwork Pâté, said: “We love creating limited edition seasonal treats. So, come Friday 31st October, whether you’re throwing a ghoulish Halloween party or settling in under dimmed lights for a classic horror movie, enjoy it with Halloween Hummus.”
Founded in 1982, Patchwork Pâté began life with a start-up fund of £9, invested from then single mother Margaret’s housekeeping funds. Today the company occupies purpose built kitchens in nearby Ruthin where it employs 20 people.
Patchwork Pâté product range also includes pâtés, chutneys and soups as well as sweet products such as ice creams and chocolate terrines. The company also offers hampers and guerrilla picnic packs for social occasions.
Patchwork Pâté has won over 80 awards for its products and enlightened business ethos since its inception, including three gold stars for its Red Pesto Pâté and the Best Welsh Speciality Golden Fork award in the Great Taste Awards 2014.
Patchwork Pâté products are stocked by selected independent retailers across the United Kingdom. Products are also available online at www.patchwork-pate.co.uk.
