Patchwork Pâté, the British producer of handmade foods from the Welsh countryside, has launched its new collection of Mushroom Marmalade.

Mushroom Marmalade is a relish packed with mushrooms, charmed with caramelised onions and shiitake. The initial flavour is sweet then the mushroomy umami aftertaste lingers until you have some more.

This range of mushroom relishes are said to be perfectly suited to enhance any burger, whether vegetarian or meat. They are great with cheese, cold or hot meats or even just on their own on a slice of toast for a tasty light supper.

The new collection starts with the original Mushroom Marmalade, followed by the Jalapeño chilli version that has a cheeky chilli kick and rounded off by the wonderful Oak Smoke version that has a rich smokey flavour. Something for everybodys’ palate.

Jenny Whitham, director at Patchwork Pâté, said: “After the huge award winning success of our vegan Red Pesto Pâté in the Great taste Awards and the growing demand for our ambient range of pâtés and chutneys, it became clear that we needed something more than just chutney in a jar to appeal our vegan and vegetarian customers. I had the idea that a mushroom delicacy would appeal to a wide audience of mushroom lovers and so Mushroom Marmalade was born!”

Patchwork Pâté was founded in 1982 by Margaret Carter. A family business, the company began with a start-up fund of £9, invested from then single mother Margaret’s housekeeping funds. Today the company occupies purpose built kitchens in nearby Ruthin where it employs 30 people.

Patchwork’s product range includes pâtés, chutneys, hummus and soups as well as sweet products such as ice creams and chocolate terrines. The company also offers hampers and guerrilla picnic packs for social occasions.

Patchwork Pâté products are stocked by selected independent retailers across the United Kingdom.
