Leading organic baby food brand Plum claims it is is set to storm the baby aisle with the launch of eight new recipes in a bid to “Ban the Bland” in baby food.
The new products are said to be unique to the UK market and will launch in Tesco stores nationwide on 4 November and roll out to the other multiples in January 2014.
These new products are influenced from Plum Inc. in the US, the parent company of the British entity and the fastest-growing food business in America, proving that good food for children can be delicious as well as highly nutritious.
Recently Plum has seen a 50% increase in trade distribution and it is on a mission to encourage parents to embrace adventurous and tasty new flavour combinations for their babies.
The new lines consist of a first for ambient baby food – Greek-style yogurt, organic whole grains (amaranth and buckwheat) and nutrient-rich fruit and vegetables (such as kale, spinach, courgette and blueberries) – making these latest additions super-nutritious and setting Plum a world apart from bland competitor products, the company claims.
Managing director of Plum, Scott Wotherspoon, said: “We’re on a mission to Ban the Bland in baby food and are really excited to launch these best-selling products from the US as part of this journey. With most baby food on the market being watery, over-sweetened and tasteless,
“Plum is bucking the trend with innovative recipes and ingredients. This is our biggest launch to date, and with this new and exciting offering we are reiterating our dedication to providing parents with tremendously tasty, healthy and nutritious dishes for their little ones.
“Susie Willis founded this business on the basis of providing “real food for babies, not just baby food” and we remain committed to that philosophy today by feeding them exciting flavour combinations to encourage a broad palate and reduce fussiness right from the first bite.”
