Renshaw, the UK’s leading manufacturer of cake coverings, fillings and toppings, has won an award for export sales growth in the Liverpool Daily Post Regional Business Awards.
The company, which has supplied the bakery trade for over 100 years, won the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Exporter of the Year Award, as part of an entry for parent firm, The Real Good Food Company (RGFC).
Renshaw reports it has increased its export sales year-on-year with a 73% increase in export turnover since 2008.
Its products are exported to 31 countries and there are plans for a further 40% growth in international sales over the next two years.
According to the company, its overseas trade has also benefited the region’s economy.
The business, now based in Liverpool, is reported to be enjoying a surge in sales of up to 13%.
Sarah Summers, business unit director at Renshaw, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win such an important and significant award. At a time when much of the North West is struggling against considerable economic pressures, we are experiencing increased sales, much of which is export driven.
“The majority of our workforce is made up of local people and so this award is a fitting way to celebrate our success and recognise the commitment and hard work of all our employees.”
Established in 1992, the Liverpool Daily Post Regional Business Awards celebrate the excellence and achievements of the very best Merseyside and Cheshire businesses.
