Retail and leisure property firm, Lunson Mitchenall, has appointed director Rob Wingrave as its new managing director from 1 October 2012.
Wingrave is said to have played an important part in the Lunson Mitchenall team since 1991 and has been instrumental in the company’s success. His new appointment is part of Lunson Mitchenall’s strategy to grow and expand its client services, the company said.
The succession sees Marcus Kilby promoted to chairman of the company. Kilby becomes president of the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) in December and is a leading voice in the retail property industry.
Lunson Mitchenall has also redefined its business structure and appointed new heads to each of its business divisions. These business divisions will capitalise on the breadth of experience across the company and the structure will enable teams to focus on providing clients with complete property solutions and an exceptional quality of advice, the company said. New heads include:
- Shopping centre leasing – Neil Hockin
- London – Peter Courtney
- Investment – John Griffin
- Retailer representation – Pat Keenan
- Catering and leisure – Theo Fordham
- Lease advisory – Richard Abel
- Shopping centre and leisure development – Marcus Kilby
- Research – Andrew Reavley
Kilby said: “I am delighted to announce Rob’s appointment as managing director, who will be leading a very experienced team. This is the right time for the next generation to take Lunson Mitchenall into the future, utilising the enormous talent we have in the company. As chairman, I will continue to provide support and guidance to Rob and the team, ensuring we remain the UK’s leading retail and leisure agency.”
Wingrave said: “This is a period of significant change for Lunson Mitchenall and I am looking forward to this new challenge and working with my colleagues to harness the talent of the team and focus our expertise across our divisions to add significant value for our clients by providing bespoke property solutions.”
The announcement follows news Lunson Mitchenall has expanded its team by 25% in the past few months, ensuring it is balanced with seasoned retail property experts and fresh, hungry talent. The integration of Keenan & Co sees the companies combine their expertise, further strengthening Lunson Mitchenall’s retailer representation, agency, and investment teams.
Other recent appointments include former head of retail agency at Knight Frank, Nigel Thompson as director, Will Hodge from Twenty Retail and Jack MacKinnon from MSBL. Will Hooper and Ruvan Sangra join as graduates from Reading.
