Sacla’, the UK’s number one pesto brand launches a new SunBlush Tomato Pesto made from sweet and juicy Italian SunBlush tomatoes.
Available now, the 12th pesto in the range offers a point of difference in the increasingly busy tomato pesto arena thanks to its delicate, sweet flavour profile. SunBlush tomatoes are rapidly growing in popularity and can be seen in a wide range of product areas due to their versatility as an ingredient.
The succulent sweet pesto will appeal to cooks who enjoy cooking from scratch or using ingredients for shortcuts. The new pesto makes a great inclusion in an antipasti dish, is ideal for adding to homemade soups or dips, as a pizza topping or spreading onto fish before cooking.
The pesto market is currently worth £39.1m (+3.0% yoy) and Sacla’ pesto is worth £22.4m (+ 6.7%) which gives Sacla’ a 57.3% share of pesto. In the wider Italian Sauces category, Sacla’ is the only brand in growth.
Clare Blampied, managing director Sacla UK, said: “We are delighted to be growing the pesto category further and developing the brand in line with consumers’ favourite ingredients – currently SunBlush tomatoes are currently growing at 8.4% year on year in the UK.”
