Sainsbury’s has agreed a major deal to stock multi award-winning Edinburgh Gin.
Sainsbury’s will offer the original Edinburgh Gin and the Raspberry infused version in 31 stores across Scotland.
The additional listings follow a partnership distribution agreement between Spencerfield Spirit Company – a Scottish-based family owned company – and one of Scotland’s leading, independent family owned distillers, Ian Macleod Distillers, which became effective in May.
Neil Boyd, UK commercial director for Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “Since adding the Spencerfield products to the Ian Macleod Distillers’ portfolio, we have been continuing to build the distribution base in order to make Edinburgh Gin available to more consumers and we are delighted with this additional Sainsbury’s listing of both the Edinburgh Gin and Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin products.”
Edinburgh Gin is produced in small-batch quantities ensuring that only the finest quality ingredients are used to produce a refreshing clean, crisp gin, the company claims. Since its launch in 2010, Edinburgh Gin has won a string of international awards and exceeded sales expectations both in the UK and abroad.
Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin is made from a traditional recipe using locally sourced Perthshire raspberries, combined with Edinburgh Gin and pure cane sugar. This results in a delicious deep, tart raspberry flavour, said Ian Macleod Distillers. The Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin is bottled in fine Italian glass and is part of a range of fruit infused variations of the Edinburgh Gin brand.
Claimed to be delicious served over ice, with soda or tonic as a long drink or combined with sparkling wine as a unique festive serve.
Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin and Edinburgh Gin are now available in 31 selected Scottish Sainsbury’s stores. Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin is £17.99 per bottle (50cl) and is 20% ABV and Edinburgh Gin is £28.99 per bottle (70cl) and is 43% ABV.
