Leading specialist UK leisure property agency, Shelley Sandzer, has secured the European debut site for authentic Taiwanese restaurant chain, Din Tai Fung, at 5-6 Henrietta Street in the heart of Covent Garden.
The 9,000 sq ft unit has space for approximately 250 covers across ground floor and basement level. Originally founded in 1958 as a cooking-oil retail business, Din Tai Fung was reborn as a steamed dumpling restaurant in 1972 and now has more than 154 locations across the world in Asia, Australia and the United States. The debut location at 5-6 Henrietta Street in Covent Garden will be followed by a second site at the Centre Point redevelopment on Tottenham Court Road, due to open in 2019.
The popular eatery takes prime position in London’s theatre and entertainment hub, offering the signature Din Tai Fung menu, including its world-famous Xiao Long Bao (Steamed Pork Dumplings), Steamed Chicken Soup, Steamed Prawn & Pork Shao-Mai, and other delicious Taiwanese staples.
