Details regarding the opening of North Lincolnshire Shopping Park have been confirmed by the park’s developer and main contractor, Simons Group.
The retailers will all be opening their doors for business on 24 October 2014.
Boots will be opening at 8am, with Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Costa and Subway all opening their doors at 10am. Retailers will be providing further details about the shop offers in due course.
Chris Newsome, senior developments director, Simons Group said: “It is incredibly exciting to be able to confirm the details for the opening day of North Lincolnshire Shopping Park, a date which we have been looking forward to for over five years. The park is providing many needed jobs and a great boost to Scunthorpe, as promised during the planning process. The construction team have done a fantastic job, keeping all interested parties in the loop and helping out where possible offsite as well as on site. The feedback that is still happening just reinforces how welcome these retailers are and we thoroughly look forward to seeing each of the shops open for business very soon.”
Chris Venters, store manager at M&S Scunthorpe, said: “We are really looking forward to opening our doors at North Lincolnshire Shopping Park and welcoming customers into M&S Scunthorpe. M&S Scunthorpe is bringing the very best of M&S to the area, with inspirational fashion ranges, a beauty department, a large homeware department, 110-seat cafe and large food hall. We’re hoping customers will join us on Friday October 24 to celebrate the opening of the M&S and the wider retail park.“
Chris Claxon, store manager at Debenhams Scunthorpe, said: “We can’t wait to get the doors open this month. The store is looking great and we have an enthusiastic group of staff eager to get started.“
Last week Debenhams launched a search for ‘Scunthorpe’s local hero‘ to officially launch the store on opening day and the store is still receiving entries. The winner will be invited to the store on the morning of Friday 24 October for a VIP style session and makeover before taking centre stage at 10am to cut the ribbon, declaring the store open. If anyone wishes to nominate a colleague, friend or family member who deserves recognition for their work in the local community please email the name of the nominee and reason for their nomination to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 10 October.
Boots has recently announced the extension of its job application process. Laura Pelcot, store manager, Boots UK, said: “We are looking for great people with friendly personalities to join our Boots team at North Lincolnshire Retail Park in a number of full time and part time positions. Boots colleagues are at the heart of our business and we look for people who will work well together. For the available roles, we are seeking some experience dealing with customers, but most importantly we are looking for someone with the potential to succeed within Boots UK. In return, we can offer you great opportunities for career progression, fantastic benefits and in-store discounts.”
