Spar UK reports it has seen fantastic growth in its store numbers this year, thanks to the symbol group’s clear strategy focusing on modern store formats, great Spar brand product success, an improved commercial package and a selling plan that delivers sales.
Between May and October 2015, Spar’s retailer recruitment numbers increased from 2,393 to 2,578 – an increase of 185 stores, or 8% in just six months.
This influx has been down to a number of factors, including existing Spar retail partners increasing their store portfolio as well as new retail partners joining Spar; national account store numbers growing and the addition of a large number of stores from Euro Garages.
Debbie Robinson, Spar UK managing director, said: “As the leading symbol group operator in the UK, store recruitment is at the heart of our national Growing Together strategy.
“We’ve had a successful year so far, with an expanding pipeline of retailers wanting to join.
“To create this success, we’ve worked tirelessly to develop innovative new store formats, an award-winning own label product range, a wider breadth of services than ever and it’s paid off,” she said.
