Spar UK has announced the appointment of Philippe Rondepierre as its new head of marketing.
Rondepierre joins Spar UK after 21 years at Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang, where he has most recently held the role of sales controller in the company.
In his new position, which will see him relocate from Dundee to Harrow, Rondepierre will be responsible for driving and implementing Spar’s sales plan. His role will also include the vital task of delivering all the marketing elements within Spar’s 10-point Inspiring Growth strategy.
Rondepierre will report to Debbie Robinson, Spar UK managing director, and will be responsible for a team of three.
Robinson said: “I am delighted that Philippe is coming to join us, bringing with him his wealth of expertise in marketing, sales and the Spar business.
“I have every confidence Spar will benefit hugely from his presence on our team, and that Philippe will be instrumental in helping us continue to develop our professional marketing.”
Rondepierre said: “I am very happy to be taking this exciting opportunity to progress my career with Spar UK. This is a fantastic chance for me to make the most of the knowledge and experience I have gained with CJ Lang and test my skills on an even larger scale.”
Scott Malcolm, CJ Lang managing director, said: “Philippe is a loyal and committed member of the senior management team of CJ Lang and we are sad to lose him but his association with Spar continues to both our advantages.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Philippe and thank him for his commitment to the company over the years. We wish him all the best in his new position with Spar UK.”
Rondepierre will take up his role at Spar UK on 11 March 2013.
