Spar UK is helping its retailers make the most of Britain’s host of summer events with the launch of limited edition red, white and blue cupcakes.
The cupcakes are available in price marked packs at four for £1.00, with packaging featuring images of this summer’s key events and the slogan ‘Let’s celebrate’.
Spar said the recipe for the cupcakes has been benchmarked and developed for the retailer by the food development agency, FBDC.
Spar UK brand director, Susan Darbyshire, said: “In their first year, Spar Brand muffins brought in £1m in sales, showing the popularity of indulgent treats. To build on this success, Spar recently introduced an own label four pack of chocolate topped cupcakes at £1.00 per pack.
“We also recently launched three new grab bags, Mini Flapjack Bites, Mini Chocolate Brownie Bites and Mini Shortbread Bites all price marked at £1.00, building on the popular consumer trend for sharing products,” she said.
“We are encouraging our retailers to make the most of the activity by stocking the cupcakes next to the till to drive impulse sales.”
