Spar UK is launching a Cider Festival campaign in stores, following the success of its Wine Festival promotion.
The Spar Cider Festival promotion will take place from 11-31 August 2011 in stores across England, Scotland and Wales, to make the most of the summer boost in cider sales.
Twelve national cider promotions will run throughout the Festival period, with a number of local deals included in various regions across the country.
Andy Burt, Spar marketing manager, said the Cider Festival was the perfect opportunity to open customers’ eyes to Spar’s range of cider.
“The three-week promotion will see a host of key brands available at competitive prices to drive footfall and purchase,” said Burt.
“All in-store material is being 100% funded by our major cider suppliers. This is a great opportunity for Spar retailers to be given the tools to create great in-store theatre and offer their full support to the promotion,” he said.
Apple-shaped point of sale materials, as well as banners, bunting, shelf stripping, barkers and posters, will all be available to Spar retailers to help encourage customer trial of new ciders.
There will also be a dedicated feature on the Spar website, including cider recipes, as well as a competition to win one of five hot air balloon rides.
Spar’s Wine Festival promotion, which took place from 28 April to 8 June 2011, saw Spar’s core range of wine sales grow by 11% during the campaign.
