TAGS Tasty Crisps – created by former Seabrook Crisps managing director, John Tague, has launched in Tesco.
The brand launched earlier this year with sharing bags, 40g bags and multipacks of 25g bags. It is now selling its multipacks of Salt & Vinegar and Cheese & Onion crisps in 44 Tesco stores for £1.00 (normal RRP £1.49)
Tague said: “We’re delighted to win a listing with Tesco. People love the sharp flavouring and the great crunch of our crisps and the fact that we are an independent new brand.”
TAGS is also stocked in Poundland and B&M stores as well as a number of independent outlets, bars and cafes and John is currently talking with a number of the multiples about further listings.
TAGS, Tague’s childhood nickname, is a family business. Apart from John, wife Clare and their four children, Patrick, 25, Joe, 24, Dominic, 16, and Cecilia, 14, are all involved in the company, which is based in Liverpool.
Among TAGS fans are former England footballer and now TV pundit Gary Neville who tweeted they are his “favourite crisps”.
Prior to starting TAGS, Tague was managing director of Seabrook Crisps and sales and marketing Director (UK) for the Walt Disney Company.
