Tastecard pivots business model to support restaurants and members during Coronavirus pandemic

Today, tastecard the UK’s largest diners’ club, launches its ‘Staying in with tastecard’ digital hub, a new platform created in response to Coronavirus. Restaurant partners, who are now providing delivery and collection services, will be available to existing and new tastecard members, offering 2 for 1 meals or 50% off orders.

In a bid to support the restaurant sector, which has recently been majorly impacted by the government’s decision to ban customers from eating in restaurants, tastecard will be heavily promoting access to delivery and collection from its customers’ local restaurants.

The new platform will promote all of its partners offering an at home service, including independent restaurants across the UK, encouraging diners to support local business whilst still following government guidelines. Restaurants offering new delivery and collection services includes the nations favourite Bella Italia, as well as independents such as Japanese restaurant Dive x Zumu, located in Manchester, and Sri Lankan restaurant Ayubowan in Glossop. Existing delivery options such as Pizza Hut Delivery and Dominos are also available with a 50% off offer.

The hub also extends its offering beyond dining and entertainment to shopping, giving its members discounts to the likes of flower delivery services, to brighten up the home. Ensuring that these offers are as accessible as possible, tastecard will automatically be upgrading 10,000 existing customers to tastecard+, free of charge, in order to access the new platform.

As well as offering a varied selection of restaurants and shopping offers, ‘Staying in with tastecard’ introduces Rakuten TV to its members for the first time. With tastecard as its preferred UK partner, customers are guaranteed the lowest price for the at-home movie streaming service. Discounted rates are offered on the latest blockbuster movies, such as Frozen II, Charlie’s Angels and Knives Out.

All new members signing up can opt for the 60-day trial for just £1 and beyond that will be granted access to tastecard+ for the reduced price of £34.99 per year or £3.99 per month.
