Princes Arcade, the one-of-a-kind shopping arcade in the heart of St James’s, has today been relaunched following a complete refurbishment to offer modern retail boutiques for outstanding independent brands.
Connecting Jermyn Street and Piccadilly, Princes Arcade offers eight new retail spaces, alongside five existing retailers. With units ranging from 150 sq ft to 1,200 sq ft, Princes Arcade has been redesigned to attract new concepts and original retailers to St James’s, and to complement the current brand line-up. The most recent addition being Grenson, the premium shoemaker, which brought a new concept store to the neighbourhood.
The Crown Estate will offer flexible terms for its new retail destination, and has designated one of the units as a permanent pop-up. This dedicated space will provide brands with the opportunity to trial new formats in St James’s, and ensure that the Princes Arcade offer remains intriguing and is continually refreshed.
The new Princes Arcade marries a modern design approach with the heritage of the area, to redefine the Regency-era shopping arcade for contemporary brands and shoppers. It has two new canopied entrances, created by contemporary artist Andrew Bick, and a new double-height glazed frontage which enhances the entrance on Piccadilly. Visitors are welcomed through to a modernised arcade which features improved lighting and reconfigured units offering a range of boutique retail spaces.
The Crown Estate carefully curates the retail offer across St James’s creating a community of likeminded brands which share a passion for artistry and craftsmanship. Across St James’s contemporary and traditional brands, offering both menswear and womenswear, are found side-by-side.
