John Lewis & Partners, the UK’s favourite high-street retailer, is taking a leap into the ambitious world of serious self-builders, renovators and home improvers by joining forces with the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show to promote its Home Design Service at the John Lewis Design Lounge. From 26-29 March at the NEC in Birmingham, the show’s visitors can enjoy free one-on-one consultations with experienced John Lewis stylists, from its Midlands branches in Tamworth, Solihull and Birmingham, to devise a new look for their rooms or restyle a whole house.
The Midlands department stores are also showcasing their latest colour schemes, fabrics and furniture designed to create a cohesive scheme for everything from flooring and curtains to the finishing touches. After their pre-booked appointment, people will receive a personalised shopping list of curated items to suit their style and budget, along with suggestions to book any additional services required.
At present, customers of the department store have been able to source and book tradespeople who have gained the John Lewis seal of approval for a range of home improvement projects. This further investment into the property industry, in conjunction with the services offered by the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show, is aimed to take the retailer’s home improvement offering to a new level. By integrating the Home Design Service within the event, John Lewis is expanding its home concept, taking it from the design process to planning and building.
Vishaal Modi, partner & team manager at John Lewis & Partners, says, ‘This year’s joint venture displays our ambition in the home services market and marks an important next step as we look to strengthen and grow our business. Bringing the teams together is a great opportunity to improve our customers’ experience and streamline their shopping journey.’
The appointments offered by the brand’s Home Design Stylists can also be enjoyed in their stores with home furnishings and furniture departments or at home. This service covers up to three rooms and more and costs £250, which is redeemable against purchases made through the Home Design Service.
