Corona wants to restore pride

Ahead of the upcoming May Bank Holiday, Corona, the UK’s number one sunshine beer has found that Brits spend a whopping 95% of their work lives indoors, spending just over an hour outside on an average work day, according to a new survey from the AB InBev brand.

What’s more, research also reveals that when Brits do take time off from work, 40% of them feel guilty about it, so much so that nearly a third (29%) took less than half of their holiday allowance in the space of 12 months. More worryingly is that when Brits do get a chance to escape the office, nearly half (48%) of them said that their employer or colleagues expect them to be available on calls or emails during these days off, with 50% of Brits checking emails when they should be relaxing or exploring on holiday.

With so many Brits expected to be contactable outside of working hours, and just under half (42%) of workers across the world apologising in their out of office responses, Corona declares it’s time to stop saying sorry and instead say, “WOOOHOOO!” Corona wants to restore pride in spending more time outdoors with a generator that encourages people to say WOOOHOOO with three o’s for a reason – OUT OF OFFICE.

To celebrate the launch of Corona’s WOOOHOOO generator in the UK, Corona searched for one of the UK’s hardest workers and found Sarah Moore, aged 26 – one of the youngest people on the Orkney Islands who currently has six jobs. With a wide range of jobs from firefighter to post deliverer, home carer and lighthouse tour guide, Sarah rarely gets time to switch off, take a break and enjoy the outdoors without being tied down. That’s why Corona has sent her packing and created her very own WOOOHOOO on the outside of the lighthouse where she works, letting everyone know she’ll be off on one of her first adventures in years.

Those wanting to celebrate their time outdoors can share inspiring notifications with friends, family and co-workers by visitingwww.WOOOHOOO.com to create a custom response for those times that they are on holiday or even when stepping outside of the office.

“We can relate to the feeling of guilt most people have for taking time off work,” said Patricia Garcia, marketing manager, Corona at Anheuser-Busch InBev. “As a brand that was born on the beach, no one knows the benefits and value of living a life outdoors like Corona. In fact, Corona found that 50% of workers surveyed around the globe stated that taking time off to soak up the sun improved their overall mood and performance at work. We hope our new WOOOHOOO generator will ignite a new mindset and inspire people to celebrate their time spent outdoors.”

WOOOHOOO makes it easy for workers to generate an out of office. They can input information about their out of office journey by simply inserting custom dates, location, message and an image. The generator then provides an out of office GIF that features creative responses and beautiful imagery that can be used on email or social media. Once the out of office GIF has been created, it can be automatically added to an Out of Office message or downloaded to be shared on social – perfect for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Stories.

Users can share their WOOOHOOO through their email or on social using #WOOOHOOO and tagging @Corona.
