151 Products – the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of quality, discount household items – is launching new pack designs for its long-standing and popular DIY sealant category.

The 15-strong range, originally launched in 2002 has undergone a packaging design overhaul to position the range in-line with current, big-brand market leaders.

Lines from the flagship 151 Sealant collection include: multipurpose silicone sealants and multipurpose acrylic, roof and gutter repair, window frame sealant, and flexible and colour-indicator wall fillers. The items currently retail from £1.49.

151 Products’ in-house design team, based at the company’s main head office, has created new packaging designs that are crisp and fresh, clearly communicating the item’s functionality to end-users – while highlighting the key messages of each individual SKU.

Amanda Lewis, marketing manager at 151 Products, said: “The sealant packaging redesign is the first of many categories that we’re planning on introducing over the next 24 months. Our goal is to create products that are similar, if not better, than other more expensive market leaders. With this in mind, it is imperative that the lines we produce are on par with these competitors – both visually and in performance.”

151 Products supplies a number of well-known retailers throughout the UK. Last year, turnover increased from £29 million to £35 million. The company is targeted to reach a turnover of £40 million in 2014.

Lewis said: “The new sealant packaging will allow retailers to stock a more visually-appealing and modern range. The designs have more synergy and work together as a complete merchandised category.

“The consumer has remained at the forefront of the design process; making it easier for shoppers to differentiate between the varied products available. The messaging is precise and to the point, summarising product details with quick information bites and supporting illustrated graphics.
