Sloane Stanley Estate launches ‘permanent pop-up’ space on King’s Road

Sloane Stanley Estate has launched THE CONCEPT STORE, a permanent and dedicated pop-up space that offers brands the opportunity to have a high street presence on the King’s Road, one of London’s most iconic shopping and lifestyle destinations.

Located at 340 King’s Road, the 1,178sq ft store will feature one-off exhibitions, quality wears, clothing as well as accessories on a rolling basis over the next 12 months.

Tom Cridland, founder of his eponymous menswear brand will be the first brand to launch its UK debut standalone pop-up at THE CONCEPT STORE. The international fashion designer known for slim fit trousers, pants and chinos in a wide range of colours is also the creator of The 30 Year Sweatshirt, specially manufactured to last that long – at least. The Tom Cridland flagship pop-up store, which opens until 29 February, follows its success as an online retailer. The brand is worn by such luminaries as Leonardo DiCaprio, Stephen Fry, Hugh Grant, Robbie Williams and Daniel Craig.

Hannah Grievson, commercial property manager at Sloane Stanley, said: “The Sloane Stanley Estate is proud to offer a dedicated space to the next batch of eager innovators. THE CONCEPT STORE offers these exciting designers and entrepreneurs their first opportunity to trade on a high profile and busy shopping street that would really enhance and grow the brand.

“Many of these businesses trade successfully online and never see their customers. It’s fantastic for them to get some market research.”

“The store will be an ever evolving concept where not only fashion brands will be welcome but also Lifestyle, Homeware and Art installations will play a part in bringing new life to the King’s Road.”

Founder, Tom Cridland, said: “At Tom Cridland we are passionate about building a brand to create choices for people who want ethical, relatively affordable clothes that are built to last. Securing a site on the King’s Road alongside other leading brands is excellent and it will provide valuable exposure for my brand.  The King’s Road is a iconic destination and the area’s strong fashion heritage is a perfect match for my brand.”

The arrival of THE CONCEPT STORE on the King’s Road follows a very successful 2015 for the Sloane Stanley Estate, with a series of leading brands launching on the King’s Road and Fulham Road, including debut stores for couture milliner, Jane Taylor, Danish womenswear brand Noa Noa and leading lifestyle brand, Woven.

Sloane Stanley is one of the oldest landowning estates in London, and has been part of Chelsea for over 250 years.  The Estate owns and manages hundreds of residential and commercial properties on the King’s Road and Fulham Road.
